It has been revealed that Israel is holding the bodies of more than 612 Palestinian martyrs in what are known as “cemeteries of numbers.”
Among these bodies are those of prisoners who were executed in cold blood, either inside prisons or during their detention. This situation has drawn strong condemnation from Palestinian authorities, who denounce the international silence on this issue.
Ismail Al-Thawabteh, Director General of the Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip, has expressed outrage at the lack of action and the “shameful silence” of the world regarding this problem.
According to Al-Thawabteh, decades have passed without a single voice demanding the release of the bodies and their return to the families of the deceased. He emphasized that the situation represents a “stain of shame” on humanity and a true challenge to global conscience.
Amid these tensions, the Palestinian Resistance has taken a significant step by handing over four deceased Israeli prisoners to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Yunis.
This gesture is part of the first phase of an exchange agreement, which could open the door to broader dialogue regarding the treatment of prisoners and the humanitarian situation in the region.
